I was born, and still live, in Chingford in East London.
For many years I worked in a nationwide retail services company, eventually becoming a director before I left to start my own business.
But the love of writing remained within me and in 2006, I decided to sell my business so I could concentrate on doing what I love most - writing poetry.
I have been inspired by the power of the written word to move people from the inertia of modern life into the escapism of verse. Poems can be simple, sad, funny, sombre, or thought-provoking, but all can capture the imagination.
My interests, besides walking my dog and writing poetry, include history, with my particular favourite periods being the Middle Ages, the Wars of the Roses and the Plantagenets, and Charles II and the Restoration.
